Andy Shone is the CEO of Southpac International Group including Auditor Training co.

CEO

Andy leads Southpac International Group as CEO. In addition to his leadership role, he works as an experienced facilitator known for his engaging delivery and strong focus on student participation. Over time, he has developed numerous new courses and led safety and leadership training programs.

At the same time, Andy stays active in the field as a lead auditor and consultant. He conducts audits and supports organisations with management system implementation. To date, he has completed hundreds of audits and supported over 30 organisations.

Robert has extensive experience in Safety Management & Training primarily in the commercial aviation and security sectors. With more than 20 years in the industry as an active crew member, an airline Training Manager and a Human Factors specialist, he has a proven track record in leading and developing large teams throughout his career. Robert brings extensive experience in safety management and training, particularly within the commercial aviation and security sectors.

Over more than 20 years in the industry, he has worked as an active crew member, airline Training Manager, and Human Factors specialist. Through these roles, he has consistently led and developed large teams. As a result, he has built a strong track record in improving performance in high-risk environments.

Ian Dix

Ian Dix

Course Facilitator

Ian has over 25 years of systems and safety experience, with expertise spanning civil, commercial and military aviation, as well as regulatory environments across Australia, the UAE, the UK, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. He authored Australia's national Safety Management System (SMS) regulations for airports and airlines and led their implementation across more than 120 aviation operators.

He has also held senior safety leadership roles with Etihad Airways, Boeing Defence Australia, and the Army Aviation Systems Branch, overseeing enterprise-level SMS, human factors, and risk governance programs.

David Munns is a Course Facilitator and a qualified Lead Auditor at Auditor Training Co.

David Munns

Course Facilitator

David is a qualified Lead Auditor and highly experienced trainer with over 30 years of experience across both training and auditing roles. Over the course of his career, he has worked in diverse sectors, ranging from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to commercial and general aviation.

In addition, he has contributed to the mining industry, where he trained operators and worked with some of the largest dump trucks in the world. As a result, he brings a broad, practical perspective to his training and auditing work.

Annemette Kilpatrick is the Admin Manager & Course Coordinator for Auditor Training co.

Admin Manager & Course Coordinator

Annemette has worked with Southpac International Group since 2007 and plays a central role in supporting both clients and course delivery. In addition to serving as the main point of contact, she manages marketing, course coordination, post-course administration, and exam marking.

Over the years, she has coordinated hundreds of courses and built strong relationships with many clients and participants. As a result, she ensures a smooth, consistent experience from initial enquiry through to course completion.

Tania is an experienced facilitator and assessor with senior management roles across transport, construction, quarrying, and asphalt. Throughout her career, she has designed, delivered, and assessed many training programs.

In addition, she has developed systems and initiatives to improve operations and ensure legislative compliance. As a result, she brings strong strategic insight and practical expertise to her work.

Tessa has built experience across multiple industries over the past decade in operational and training roles. Along the way, she developed a strong passion for learning and development. Before joining Southpac, she worked as a Learning Designer for a major Australian airline. There, she designed training materials for airport operations across a global network.

Now, Tessa leads the planning, design, and delivery of innovative training initiatives.

She oversees programs across all Southpac International Group training companies.

As a result, she ensures every program delivers engaging and effective learning experiences.

Anton is a skilled Learning and Development specialist with a Master's in Agricultural Engineering.

In addition, he has experience across global technology and university sectors.

history

2004: Southpac Aerospace was founded, providing Lead Auditor and Systems training to the aviation industry across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.

2011: Southpac Aerospace becomes a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 32353) and delivers a number of nationally accredited training courses and Diplomas, with clients including Qantas, Jetstar, Boeing, Airbus, Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), and the Australian Defence Force.

2012: Southpac becomes a JASANZ accredited Conformity Assessment Body (CAB), with its first scheme, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, targeting the aerospace industry.

2013: A second company, Systems Management Specialists, is formed, supporting local small businesses to develop effective management systems.

2014: Southpac's certification arm adds two more schemes to its scope – ISO 45001 OH&S Management Systems, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems – broadening to certify management systems across all industries.

2016: Systems Management Specialists registers as Southpac International Group, and commences additional services in Human & Organisational Performance (HOP), Management Systems and Leadership Development.

2019: Southpac Certifications Pty Ltd is registered as a standalone company, and the business continues to add certified clients from a range of industries across Australia and New Zealand.

2021: Southpac International Group expands its Management Systems training to include auditor training for other safety-critical industries outside of aviation – initially to support the high risk organisations that are aligned with HOP.

2023: Southpac Aerospace develops its course offering to over 30 courses, while the signature Safety & Lead Auditors Course is attended by hundreds of professionals starting or continuing their auditing career.

2024: Auditor Training Co is launched to deliver Southpac's renowned auditor training to all safety-critical organisations and industries, backed by over 20 years of auditor training history.
